Man, this one deserves "Best Picture" in a big way, and not just as a make-up for being overlooked the last couple times.  It maybe isn't quite as good as the last one, but still superb.

I was very impressed w/the effects, too.  At very few points was I even thinking about them while watching, which to me it the whole point.

I can't wait for the X-Edition; I have a feeling there's a lot they left out.  The extended version, I've read, will add a full 40 minutes of footage!   That's fine by me- the theatrical release is very rushed and breathless feeling even at 3 + hours.  Naturally I'll buy the standard one upon its release, to get my fix, then the Uber Edition when it comes out.

Maybe tomorrow I'll catch, "Master & Commander, On the Far Side of the World."
