Old Time Life Sets any Good???
« on: 24 Feb 2004, 05:22 am »
I have an opportunity to purchase a bunch of old vinyl Time Life Sets consisting of 31 sets of 2 or more albums each... all of the swing era. Most of these sets remain unopened.

My question is this...
Does anyone have experience with Time Life recordings? Are the pressings up to the quality of the original source pressings?

I understand the swing era to be in the 30's and 40's and I know what to expect in that regard. However, I don't want a double-heaping of sludge due to poor application by Time Life. In other words, did Time Life do a good job reproducing these tracks? Anyone know?

Thanks,
Randog

Be careful with these.  I own one set that I picked up at a good will and over half of the records are warped.  The sound quality is decent but I wouldn't pay much for them.
