Acoustic Sounds' newsletter included several new models of Thorens tables, sporting looks that depart significantly from the Thorens of yesteryear.

Disclaimer: this is of course a lesser belt-drive TT incapable of overcoming stylus drag. It is meant merely as audio jewelry for your system and NOT as an actual record-playing device.

I was gonna say the same thing, but you beat me to it in the disclaimer.  What a beautiful piece of art- too bad it can't sound good.

Actually no, this table has a special feature to combat stylus drag.  That stainless steel platter contains a sophisticated liquid nitrogen cooling system and water condensation generator which freezes a microfine layer of ice crystals onto your record.  Then the heat of the passing needle gently melts the ice, so you get wet ice - what could be slicker!?  That, combined with using the new Teflon records that are being pressed might actually make this piece of junk halfway decent.
