I have some biampable british studio monitors hooked up to my old marantz in my office. I ran this 4 conductor 12ga. cable I got from a place called knuconcepts from my a and b speaker jacks. Does this function like biamping? BTW, anybody used this cable? it is pretty killer.

No, what you are doing. from the way you describe it is Bi-wire ing not bi-amp. to bi-amp you need to have one amp for the bass and one for the mids and highs. Unless its vertical bi-amping but thats a whole different story. either way. for bi-amping  you need what the name implies. BI amps (2 amps)

Is this a no no for any reason? As you can probably guess, yeah, I am a rookie.

Yeah, my brother uses that 8 awg speaker wire.
It's a little thicker than their 1/0 awg power wire, and way more difficult to cut, due to half the wires thickness being insulator.

A bit overkill, but really fun looking stuff.
