I am constructing a new HT room as part of my major house remodel. I am looking to do a few things:
1/ purchase a new motorized screen and get it installed;
2/ have an existing projector installed and calibrated;
3/ install a few conduits behind the walls so I can run some HDMI cables between HT Receiver and TV, between HT Receiver and Projector, and between HT Receiver and speakers. (I want conduits so I can change cables)
I have the discontinued Pioneer Elite projector (same as the then top of the line JVC model). I am thinking of purchasing the Vutec Lectric III tensioned screen. Per the manufacturer's spec, the screen would need to be calibrated.
Just wondering whom I should be calling? The local electronic retailers just want to sell me equipment. Since the only thing I will be buying is the projection screen and the HT receiver, they don't seem too eager to help.
Can the electrician handle installing the conduits behind the walls?
Can I just purchase the screen from an online retailer and have the contractor install it, and calibrate it myself?
Can I run an 35 feet HDMI cable from the HT receiver to the Projector? If not, what are other alternatives?
