I decided to build a rack similar to a Mapleshade rack, but that, IMHO, would look better.

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?action=gallery;area=browse;album=3741Four shelves, each 24” x 18” 1.5”.
Shelves were made from Pennsylvania maple, by a local craftsman. Clear lacquer finish.
3/4” hardware. All hardware, including the threaded rod, is made of brass.
Rack is about a year and a half old, but I haven’t actually used it much. I’ve kept it in my dry, clean basement, unexposed to direct sunlight. Clean, with no equipment foot marks on the shelves.
Conservatively rated 8/10. About the only flaws are the natural flaws in the wood.
About $1k invested in this rack.
I can ship the rack in four carefully packed boxes, and shipping cost would depend on location. For example, shipping to the west coast would cost $130. Total weight is no more than 100 lb. Of course, local pickup is welcome. (Allentown, PA)
As an option, I have a set of four brass threaded pointed footers—I’m guessing they were made by Audiopoints. (Sorry, I won’t sell these without the rack unless I sell the rack first.)
