Is 4' H of 24" face triangular bass trap equivalent to 8' H of 18" face bass trap in the corner.  I am considering cutting my 24" traps in half and stacking them to the ceiling.  Doing this will take the depth of the trap from 12" to 9".  Is one preffered over the other?

I advise against cutting your traps in half to be narrower. Much better is to leave them, and optionally add more 24-inch wide traps to go from floor to ceiling.
