SOLD - FS AVA T8+ Tube DAC plus extra tubes

The DAC is sold.

I'm reluctantly selling my AVA T8+ Tube DAC and 2 additional sets of tubes. The DAC is in excellent condition and was purchased from AVA in OCT 2009. There is a very small dent on the rear panel (circled in pic), but otherwise is in perfect condition. The retail price of the DAC was 1379.00 - the T8+ DAC was discontinued when the AVA Vision DAC was released in late 2009.

Included in the sale are the stock 6N1P tubes, Mazda/Brimar 6CG7/6FQ7 Matched Pair - purchased from Upscale Audio for $80, and 6CG7EH Gold Matched Pair - purchased from BOI Audioworks for $44.00 (and the offsets that are needed to fit the taller 6CG7 tubes).  I have the original box and documents.

The only reason I am selling the DAC is that I ran out of space in my audio stand after recently adding a Velodyne SMS-1 to the mix. I have been using the AVA DAC along side my Bryston BDA-1 DAC. The Bryston DAC has a digital output, so I was able to easily switch between the two DAC's with my remote. I found that the AVA DAC sounded better on some types of music (like acoustic guitar) and has a slightly deeper sound stage than the Bryston, while the Bryston edges out the AVA DAC in some types of music. Basically it is a tube vs SS difference when comparing the two DAC's and it was a difficult decision to sell the AVA DAC - it's that good. I am keeping the Bryston DAC since it has extra inputs and features.

My asking price is $575.00 and includes shipping and PayPal fees.
