I am selling a 5 year old pair of VMPS RM40 speakers in the Boston Area local sale only for X. The speakers have the following upgrades / options:

1) MLS Maple cabinets
2) Auricap caps on the midrange and TRT caps on the tweeters
3) Blackhole-5 treatment (SR-71)
4) Bolder silver wire throughout the speaker
5) External crossovers

I have the shipping containers as well.

The speakers are in very good cosmetic condition, but do have the following two issues:

1) One tweeter plays about 5-6 dB louder than the other tweeter.
2) Midrange panels outputs are inconsistent. Using a 1 kHz test tone, their output varies by ~20dB between the top three and bottom midrange panel.

Over the past five years I rate the speakers an A+ for sound, but I would give their reliability a C-. I am sure that Brian at VMPS will work with you for necessary repairs at a reasonable cost.

I don't live in the Boston area but am interested in your speakers. If you decide to sell to "outsiders" please consider my offer for these speakers. I would pick them up, so there would be no shipping.

P.S. You don't say which tweeter system these speakers have, I will assume they are the FST (ribbon) type.
