Hi

i am looking for a 12v regulated linear power supply or wall wart w/ at least 800mA or more .
it would be preferred if it has a 2.1mm plug. ( i am not sure about the exact size of the connector )

MCM (http://www.mcmelectronics.com) has this adjustable on sale for $15.00. Parts Express was recently selling it at $24.00. I know the Squeezbox folks are using it to replace the wall wart. I bought one for the bench because at $15.00 I thought if it was junk I wans't out much. Surprisingly good little device. Nice XFMR and very stable under load. I scoped it and the output is nice and clean even with noisy devices hanging on it. Good deal. For the cable you could run down to Radio Shack and buy a pre made and keep the cable/plug portion or just buy a plug and some hook ip wire and you'd be set.

That same supply is available from a few vendors.

PartsExpress has it here

They also offer a set of adaptors here

It is a linear supply. While it is rated for 2 amps it will get fairly warm if something draws over 1.5 amps.
