Ammar's HT2-TL's in pau ferro rosewood
« on: 15 Jul 2010, 08:51 pm »
A few months ago, our associate Ammar built a pair of HT2-TL's for his brother.  Here is a link...http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=81300.0

At the same time, he began building a pair for himself.  It took a while to complete them (he wanted to finish his brother's speakers first), but he finally finished.

Here is a picture...

And a close-up...

Now he won't have to compete with his older brother for best sound in the family.

Congrat's Ammar and may you enjoy many years of great sounds!

That is a great hardwood!  The grain and appearance are spectacular! The white drivers/gold phase plugs just pop off the page.

Wow. Double wow.

Just curious, how much extra would it cost to get pau ferro rosewood on a pair of Songtowers ?

I'm blown away by their beauty.  I've always been partial to oak, but i'm starting to really appreciate the beauty in the wood patterns of the darker veneers.  Thank you Jim for posting the pics.   :inlove:

Absolutely stunning!  I really think this should be the veneer on my next pair of Jim's speakers, and apparently my wife agrees. :thumb:

I love the look of those speakers!  Of course, I am bias since its the same veneer as mine.  Amar's really look incredible, though.  Congrats!

P.S.  I love the veneered plinths!

I love the melting face look near the bottom of the front.  Just below the bottom driver are eyes.  Bit further down, a gaping mouth.  Great work!

No.  They were shot with gloss lacquer, but not rubbed out.

Ammar's speakers are stunning.  It's nice when the employee uses the brand that he / she works for.   :thumb:

As noted earlier by another jd, & jt, simply stunning ! Great work Jim, Ammar, & company.  :thumb:

Good catch on the face mchuckp, missed it on the first look. Artwork, in fine woodwork, with sonic excellence, who could ask for more.  8)

Wow - I always loved the bubinga veneer, but this could be my new fav.
I've had speakers in waterfall bubinga (one of my faves), and a cherry grain that was equal to any bubinga I'd ever seen .  It was referred to as "Cherry flambe"  because of the amazing active grain looking like fire.  Santos mahogany, purpleheart, cocobolo and others also make for awesome finishes. Recently, I saw an active grain oak that looked amazing, like no other oak I had seen before.
