Offramp 2 vs. Offramp 3
« on: 12 Jul 2010, 01:30 pm »
Sorry if this is a terribly simple question but I've not had much luck finding an answer elsewhere.  Can someone please tell me the main differences between and Offramp 2 and an Offramp 3?  Thanks for your help.

I have owned both of the Offramps. My first Offramp was the original not updated and I used it until about 6 months ago. I was very happy with it. My new Offramp 3 with Ultraclock was a huge step up in terms of soundstage realism.
Physically, the two aren't similar at all (the 3 is 3 times the size). I think Steve completely changed the power handling.

That's correct.  The power supplies are upgraded, the internal clock cabling is upgraded and there is another reclocking stage in the Of-Ramp 3.  It also has I2S, S/PDIF and AES outputs.  Unlike the Turbo 2, it can also accomodate an Ultraclock.
