ISO: the correct PF box set to purchase
« on: 7 Jul 2010, 03:41 pm »
Over the last year(s) I have lost most of my Pink Floyd and need to replenish!

I thought I remembered a thread on which Pink Floyd Box set to order... I have searched this whole circle to no avail (maybe I was remembering the LZ thread).

Can anyone supply a location to purchase the right Pink Floyd box set? All albums, "mini LP" or not. Japan or not... Just looking for the best remaster that will not be a risk of getting a booted version of a limited edition box.

Edit: "Mini LP"  OR  "Oh, By The Way" ???

Any and all help much appreciated!

Im going to guess that the PINK FLOYD "Mini LP"  OR  "Oh, By The Way"  box sets are the same mixes, same quality and really does not matter witch set is purchased...

Here is a link to "Oh By The Way" -- http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/obtw/

I've seen it referred to as a "Mini LP Replica," so you may be referring to things that are one in the same.

B & N has it for $203.48 and you can use the code R3F8L4T (good until July 19) to get 10% off to knock it down to $183.13 before tax.  Shipping is free.

Does anyone have the "Shine On" box set? Just curious about it's sound quality.

Yep, was just looking at it actually. Last time I compared Dark Sides, I remember it sounding good, may have like one of my other copies better. I think I have 5, including the mofi. My system at the time was ok, but not full audiophile approved. I think the box and the rest of Floyd will be some of the first things loaded onto my drive for my new Tranquility dac. I'm curious too if anyone has insight to this box set.

Thanks so much for the coupon code!!! I went ahead and ordered this one... Will be great having all the Floyd back again.

I thought there was an actual "mini LP' box (from Japan maybe?) That did the full on replica of the original album packaging... But this one looks very nice and heck! It's "official" anyway right?

Maybe Wish You Were Here never came out on SACD because they are waiting to do another box of ALL in SACD!!! One can dream anyway....

Thanks again

You are welcome.  Enjoy.

I have all the studio albums, Echoes and Live in Gdansk on vinyl and I like this format the best.  I think I have like 10 copies (original, represses, MoFi, 30 year anniversary) of DSOTM.  The 5.1 SACD is a treat too.
