I didn't try and download anything but the link took me to a site exclusively with her music.

Too bad flac files aren't offered.

Oh well... I guess that this is a good way to decide if you like her work.

Thanks for the heads up.  I was always a bit surprised she never managed to achieve a higher profile - she's put out some very good stuff.

Too bad The Walking isn't available in AIFF though.

Downloaded the S/T: AIFF @ 1411 kbps/44.100 kHz (Redbook)

No Borders Here: MP3 @ 192kbps/44.100 kHz

I can live w/ Redbook. The MP3s, however... wish she had gone 320 kbps.

Update: Other MP3 only releases are @ 128 kbps. Sigh.

Yes. But i don't see why one would bother. I'm just replaced as much as my ALAC files with AIFF as i could directly from the CDs.

Thanks for this thread.  Can I burn these files to a cd and listen using a regular cdp?

What is her music like? Any comparisons to known musicians?

Eclectic is the word that comes to mind as she tends to trip around the pop/folk/progressive landscape.  If you prefer jazz, start with "Maria".  If you lean more towards progressive/new age, try "When I was a Boy".  For more straight ahead pop, "Bound by the Beauty".

I enjoy her quirky musical style and sense of humor.  At least once or twice a record, she turns a phrase that has me laughing out loud or knocks me over with its profound insight.

I lost track of Jane after her name change thing a few years back... apparently she's back to plain old 'Jane'. A couple new ones I haven't heard... cool.

Hey, her album 'City' isn't there... must be copyright issues with that one.

Would highly recommend 'Child' from the NY Trilogy... a live Christmas concert. So save it for a few months. Xmas music that doesn't make me want to puke is rare, this is a real jewel. Just one song NSFW or maybe family (on a Xmas album!!!)

Thanks to Jane for making these available

"Bound By The Beauty," "When I Was A Boy" and "Maria" are still listened to regularly on my system. I have to admit I also lost touch when she changed her name and went to the strange marketing system. Already have her early work on cd. I don't do downloads but now have a reason to learn how to.
Russtafarian's take on the three albums is correct. I say get them all, you won't be disappointed.
Holy crap, you can get the three albums mentioned above for less than $2 (plus shipping) at Amazon. Throw in "The Walking" while your at it.
