VPI 17 Record Cleaning Machine

If you own one of these, you might want to drain the fluids, flip it over, unscrew the bottom

 and go with an external cleaning solution tank. 
As you can see, the tanks are cleverly screwed onto unprotected chip board which falls apart when it gets wet.
I just finished up constructing a new cabinet out of stained and cleared pressure treated plywood. 
Fun and games.

I built an acrylic cover for my cleaner tank which i just use for distilled water rinse

I just ran into that two months ago, and contacted VPI.  The can replace the cabinet with the current version for $250 (I think; can't find the email).  They hinted that they MIGHT have a few B stock of the original cabinet  :scratch:, but they never confirmed that.

I plan to use some nice birch plywood and use multiple layers of polyurethane.

When I opened it up and saw the degree of rot, I was shocked. :duh:
