"Quantum Destroyer" subwoofer - rythmik servo
« on: 20 Jun 2010, 09:58 am »
So dubbed by a member here to auditioned it.  I was fooling around with constrained layer damping and this is one of the results.

It's two extra-thick sonotubes in a constrained layer setup, with integrated caps of 6-8 inches of alternating MDF and baltic birch plywood. (Tapered around woofer to allow for airflow). Lined with fiberglass insulation. Separate amp enclosure on back. Woofer and amp are the rythmic servo 350 watt and DS12 woofer (gray, downfiring). Currently several coats of primer on it. I could finish this in some exotic veneer if you want, or you could just stow it out of the way somewhere.

It
sounds
fantastic
.

No shipping.  Pickup near Pittsburgh PA, or maybe Baltimore MD.  It might fit across your back seat.

credit to Todd for the nice pics in his setup.  $750 (less than audiogon price)
