Boxes of 2 let's see...ah vintagebob and I can split a shipment.
Congratulations on the new diffusor. What are the differences between this QRD diffusor and the D1 diffusor? Thanks.Tom
The new QRD is more of an Elite product with the wood frame and choice of interior colors. It's not hollow in the rear like the D1 is so no provisions to add filling or damping. The lower limit of the new QRD is approx the same as the D1 in terms of diffusion, though it will continue to scatter a little lower than the D1. On the top end, the QRD will continue to scatter until approx 7.5 kHz whereas the D1 will diffuse up until approx 10 kHz.The D1 is a variation on the standard QRD with the radii on some of the well faces. The new one is a more standard implementation.Bryan
Thanks for the explanation Bryan. Although there are slight differences in performance between the new QRD and the D1, the larger surface area of the new QRD makes it look like the better deal. All the best on your new product launch.Tom
I plan to place your diffuser behind my listening position. Is this a correct application? The panel will fit perfectly above the rear window in the attached photo. My room treatments are much different today...this old photo shows the location best.
