Following the success of Linkwitz's Open Baffle Dipole speaker; the Phoenix ,
http://www.linkwitzlab.com/m_panel.htm Has anyone incorporated this incredible woofer in a 2 way TM, MTM or TMM bass reflex enclosures ?
It has 0.2mH of inductance which should provide a clean midrange to about 1.5kHz. Perhaps crossing this over to a robust tweeter like the Peerless HDS; now known as Scan-Speak Discovery D2608/9130 or maybe the venerable Scanspeak D2904 7100 soft dome ?
From experience, I have used the 6.5inch kevlar midwoofer version in a TMM floorstander; the 18W8546 ; and have found it to have a spectacular midrange with great lower midrange capabilities. It seems to be smoother than the 18W8531G00 revelator, although with lesser bass in the 33-40Hz region when used in it's appropriate enclosure (13.5 Litre) reflex tuned 33Hz.
Imagine the dynamic capability if the 8inch kevlar could be implemented well in a 2way system.
