I'm pretty good about 80% the speed of typing on a regular keyboard, but sometimes I find that I just really really suck. I generally trust the corrective typing, but occasionally it doesn't kick in appropriately. Biggest issue I have is a lack of a ' key on the main keyboard screen. Trying to tyoe (<- corrective typing fail!!!!!) words like 'we're' becomes incredibly cumbersome.

I learned that my space bar thumb is low
So I hit the iPad rim and don't hit the key at all
Makes for some really long words!!!!!

My typing on the phone is pretty good, nowhere near the 60 or so wpm I get touch typing but fast enough to get by. I'm anxious for Swype to be released, hopefully Apple will accept it in the app store.

at least ipad is bigger than iphone- i'm using the iphone now and it's crap on typing in forums!

Yes, it's just like that.  The worst part is that some of my typos can generate the strangest autocorrections in the form of practically deleting whole words out of my sentences and concatenating random words together.
