Just a heads up. I talked to the J&R guy and he saw an XR50 in the system and it's on the website. He said a couple of weeks.

Seing that I could never get a XR45, maybe this might be good alternative?

I believe the 50 is the replacement for the 25 and the 70 is the replacement for the 45.

There is no information on the 50 on the Panasonic website so I am not certain.

That is a shame about the hdmi only in the single disc version.  I really need a multi-disk universal dvd machine that outputs high end quality sound.  Really I just want the world.  For $150

meh.  I don't like that they refuse to support SACD.  I understand the rivalery but there are far more SACD titles I'd like to buy than DVD-A.  It looks like for those of us who want it all we'll have to go the seaparates route.
