Unifield 2 use in Home Theater ??
« on: 13 Jun 2010, 04:03 pm »
Recently I get a chance to hear from a pair of Unifield 2, was such a great musical experience. Love how the speakers perform. However for my room size, I can only place a pair of speaker for both audio and home theater system, 2 way usage. Anyone owner here experience Unifield 2 for home theater, how do you feel from it?

Presently using Thiel 1.6. Will not be looking at anything higher in price then Uni2 due to budget. Nor anything bigger then Uni2 due to room size constraint. :nono:

By the way this is my 1st post here at Audio Circle, HiHi to everyone.. :D

Hello Earl,

Welcome to the AC.

We have the Unifield II for quite a time now and recently we use this beautifull system in a HT configuration.
We used the U2's in different positions. They act very impressive in any position. Very natural and with high precision.

About your budget, I don't know a speaker acting so nice for this price.

Have fun.

Welcome Earlgrey. I have a pair of Unifield 2's and a Unifield 2 center on order for a customer right now. I should have them in a few weeks. Once I get them setup I will provide some pictures. If you would like to email me about the Unifield 2 my email address is scott.wa@verizon.net We are a full line authorized VSA dealer as well as one of only three authorized internet VSA dealers.

Albert makes a Unifield 2 center channel which is the best match.

Disco Scott sold me a set of three U2s i use for 2 channel and center surround. They work great for surround.  Albert makes a U2 specifically for center channel.  I am just breaking them in, but they sound wonderful in both applications.  I listened to the Wilson Duette and I think they compare favorably to the Wilson Duette.  The U2 is more focused; What you would expect from a premier mid-field monitor.  The Duette I found to be less focused and more open.  I am not saying the U2 is better or worse, just different.  BTW, they go pretty low for a speaker of this size.  I love them!

I'd think that center would be happier standing up, no? (phase-wise)

Anyway, great speakers, I'm sure!

Concentric mids and tweets same vertical dispersion. Shouldn't be an issue if the U2s are crossed over around 70Hz or lower to the woofer :)
