Here is what I'd like to accomplish, using one set of Main L&R front speakers in both a 2 channel(from one amp) and 5.1 channel (from another amp)...running two connections from different source amps at same time-NOT on and running together just connected so I could turn on one amp-a 2 channel and have stereo or use different amp-AV receiver utilizing the same fronts and of course surrounds.
If both amps were on simultaneously I can see where that would be very bad but how about one or the other. That way I could ditch a pair of speakers and save room. Thanks!!! :thumb:

Hi

I wouldnt do that...... You will send current all the way back up your unused speaker wire and into the amp that isnt on. there is definitely closed circuits that will drop voltage. You will prob blow something.

It's more work, but what you could do is:
Get some Neutrik Speakon connectors (4 pole will do) wire one to the speaker wires. Wire a mating connector to each amplifier. It only takes seconds to switch Speakon connectors. Total cost under $20.

Kevin-Great idea, but what I forgot to mention is the fact that everything is in a TV stand with no easy access, but..nothing stopping me from making sure both sets of speaker leads have banana plugs and just change connection at the back of each speaker as they would both be accessible and high enough off the ground...Bingo!!! Thats the ticket run four leads, two from each amp and swap in and out of the easily accessible banana pluggable posts!! or some type of switch at each speaker that negates one run or the other...I will find this item tonite and be back.....
