I treated myself today! NY Philharmonic Live

NY Philharmonic morning concert. Got 2nd row seat right behind the conductor (Maazel). :)

Brahms first piano concerto -- intermission--and then....some of my favorite music ever (Wagner orchestral)...and two encores

All the great Wagner Overtures (including the Liebstod from Tristan but excluding Reinzi Overture)!

I have NEVER been this moved by any art in my life. I was connected, enobled, uplifted, empowered with the energy of the universe in a way that I have never felt. Maazel is a master in conducting Wagner. :!:

I am treating myself to Front Orchestra more often, only $42 for matinee concerts such as today.

Great to hear, Bill.  I love going to the see the NY Philharmonic and I have a subscription series- just got to see Andre Previn and his wife Sophie Mutter play Beethoven.  Despite what other people say about having systems better than live music, I've heard NOTHING that even comes close to seeing the NY Philharmonic live when you are in a good seat.
