SOLD: Pair Fostex 126e drivers (enabled)

SOLD

I enabled these myself. I compared them to commercially enabled 126e's and they sound identical. I used an enabling kit from Ed LaFontaine. The materials don't leave the obvious dot rings on the speakers.

 :duh:
I had three sets of these drivers through a strange concatenation of circumstances. I still have one extra set. Speaking of cats, there is a bit of cat hair on the drivers as my furry assistant was around when I enabled them. She donated just a few stray hairs, the small kind that drift in the air. They are not noticeable from a distance and completely invisible when the cover is on the speaker. I'll post pictures if anyone is interested.
 :duh:

No reasonable offer refused.

Your post seems humorous because I know you sell enabled 126e's and know very well how they look. Or, do you just want to have a laugh at my cat's contribution? Or maybe my enabling job? Actually, it ended up a joint project by me and the cat. Gives them that home-made look.

I will post pictures, but not til tomorrow.

So, why do you, of all people, want to see pictures of these? By the way, when I do post the pictures, feel free to use them to show what can go wrong if you DIY. As I said, they sound just fine, with all the advantages you describe on your site, but they have that certain something extra.

I was just interested in seeing someone else's work -- i've never actually seen a 126 done up with stealth spots. I have been as helpful as possible to help people roll their own.

BTW: i'm always fighting cat hairs. Chris says it is part of the receipe :)

PS: posting also helps keep the thread near the top. The more people hear EnABled drivers, and the more encouragement i can give hardcore diyers to do there own, the better it is for me.

My cat's contributions are less obvious than I thought. The pencil marks I used as guides and the reflections from the dots are more pronounced than the cat hairs.

Anyhow, I did them for myself and was not concerned with the cosmetics so much. Actually, I liked the hand-hewn look.

By the way, the baskets are damped.

Enyoy!
