Used Stratos - Age of unit?
« on: 3 Jun 2010, 05:23 pm »
Hi

I am looking at purchasing a used Stratos. The Ser. No is 9900066. Does that mean it was built in 1999? The faceplate is damaged. What would the cost of a new one be.

Thanks
Brian

After looking at the condition of the amp and the cost of shipping it to Klaus for repair and check up I am considering going with a new Stratos or the smaller amp - not sure of the name.

Bought one myself in March and sent it in. Mine was 9900263 not built by Klaus, but his other builder back then.  I sent it to him in April and he said that he'd upgrade it for me..I can"t wait to hear from him on IDEAS!

It's called the Khartago.

As stated  in earlier thread about used Stratos, Klause and I talked about how some from this vintage were not 'his' and how to deal with this...I feel lucky that he will help me out, I can't wait for the results! :thumb:

After some time and Klaus' expence, I must say that this is a wonderful amp! Klaus made everything right with it. And after it melted away in his shop he made it better, at no more expence to me. As I said. I've been listening to it daily since August and it is just better and betterer!
