That review is a definate rave, but I was suprised at the content.  It's long on technical specs, but a little short on listening observations.

He mentions a couple of times how most of the time we are only using a few watts of power.  While that may be true, anyone that's ever heard high power knows how big the difference is.  Bass in particular just does not sound right on most low powered amps.

Werd, when you're done fighting the Salk guys, come home and read the review.

I have, and what it does  most noteably is play at low volumes with huge transients.... They take my ribbons into never never land and beyond with no ceiling of decay. Its got so much reserve power that transients will layer on one another. The 4B is unable to match it here.

I bet. But how much worse is the 4B, really?

I wouldn't say the 4B is worse, they are exact in tone. Its just that the 14B has more power on reserve. The 4B is nothing to scoff at. More power just puts everthing in better order and doesnt smear at all. The 4B and 14B are equal for prat but the 14B is better at imaging.

They must've been reading my posts....hehe. Yes i can get them to sound really punchy but that kinda freaks me out. I have mine laid back pretty good.

Man it drives me crazy when you go on a website and they don't let you walk around the showroom virtually somehow. Even just stills  are good.

Ok, I see. The 14B is probably better for a 4 ohm load and lower, true. More current?
