The movie theatre does not have a pool table - my basement does!

My wife is going tomorrow with one of her friends - my buddy and I will have the kids for the afternoon - I would rather deal with 4 screaming kids ages 4.5-7.5 than see this movie.

Nuff said!

I don't have any kids and this sounds like a (potential) nightmare....but much more palatable than the movie!!!

Well i went and saw Sex and the City II today and it was lame. The storyline was lame, the acting was lame and it turned out to be a long long but welcome wait for The End. I'm glad I watched Splice 1st,,, good 3 out of 5 movie which while predictable was still entertaining. Sex and the City was easily the worst movie to date of 2010. 1.5 out of 5,, nice scottish wet t-shirt boobies and Kim Cattrall's sluttery were it's only highlites for yours truely.  :eyebrows:

Why would you expect anything other than lame from Sex and the City 2??

Sorry, but if you are silly enough to waste your money and go see it, you got what you deserved.

Well George, I did like the 1st movie and there were a few here that actually liked the movie so i gave it a shot as a 2nd movie for the afternoon. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I gave my opinion on the movie as have others who have seen the movie and taken the time to post their thoughts.  :thumb:

Opinions from all those who haven't seen the movie are both worthless and a waste of webspace AFAIC.  :nono:

Good one!   :thumb:

I don't need to see this movie to know it's a turkey and should be avoided at all costs!

Look at the reviews:

I actually enjoyed the first couple of seasons of the original TV show on HBO...enough to watch the first movie when it came to HBO, but alas I thought that movie was terrible.  No desire whatsoever to see the new one...

I did see the first one (and yes, my GF made me!) but it wasn't terrible at all.  I never saw the 2nd one, but I have to scratch my head at the old "I don't need to see this movie to know it's a turkey" argument.  Reviews go a ways but ultimately I'm my own arbiter of a good film.

Rob I am loving that Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance quote!

I read that book every year for 10 years after picking it up in India in 1996.

Rob,

I agree with you in that I am ultimately my own arbiter of everything (not just movies), but sometimes I really don't need to figure it out for myself when it is really obvious.

In this case, it seems pretty simple and straightforward to me...really bad reviews + this not being the genre I generally gravitate to +sequel status = STAY AWAY

BTW, I saw the first movie and watched some of the series on HBO.  The first movie was so-so at best, while the series definitely had a lot of funny moments and was pretty decent.

My girlfriend and her friends saw this movie on Friday and they really enjoyed it, the consensus was that it was a better movie than the first SATC flick.  It's very different, I guess, so if you're expecting the same thing, it will likely disappoint.

That's how I decide whether a film is worth my time or not.  Genre is the big one.  Even though Borat and Dark Knight had great user and professional reviews, I knew on account of the genre these weren't for me.  Unfortunately curiosity for the Dark Knight got the best of me... and I hated it! :icon_frown:

I would like to say thanks to the guys that "went" to see Sex and the Ciy 2 and for reporting your reviews of the film.  I did watch the first movie with my wife on HBO or Showtime and should I see this one it will be the same type of situation.
