New Fostex 126?
« on: 1 Jun 2010, 02:14 pm »
Someone told me that Fostex just made some changes to their FE126E.
Any truth to that and if yes, how will it affect the sound?

Fostex website with the new En models: http://www.fostexinternational.com/docs/speaker_comp/FE-Series.shtml
Measures from DaveP10: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/167622-collected-data-fexx6e-vrs-fexx6en.html
FExx7E series now discontinued.
Edit -just heard the FFxx5K series also discontinued, so just stock left with distributors.
No word on the F, FX or ESigma ranges as yet, but one suspects the F & FX will be for the chop & the ESigmas will be revamped.

Well, Cap'n - by now you know that Ed has had a chance to initially evaluate the latest version, and is convinced that it's more of "it" than before - that sounds like good news for all hoping to use or upgrade to this driver in Hornshoppe Horns or upcoming DIY projects.

The way it looks there could be several used and well broken in FE126E drivers in the classified section.

IIRC, the "street price" on FE108E Sigmas ("gently" broken in or NIB)  was deflated for a while for similar reasons a few years back
