Piccolo Build - Terminal Shields
« on: 30 May 2010, 02:19 am »
Hi - Piccolo build is moving along.  Still waiting on some parts but have a question about the terminal shields.  The manual doesn't say so I'm guessing that they go on the underside of the pcb.  What are they used for?  They seem to be in the way of the batter holder but I could also have them placed in the wrong holes (haven't soldered them yet at least).  Thanks.

No, on the same side as the other components.  Just behing the row of electrolytic cap.  You will see the holes for them.  Look again. :D

Saw the holes, just couldn't see them in the picture in the manual.  What is their purpose?

You have to look closely, VERY closely to see them in the picture.  They are for shielding.

I had both eyes open, I swear.  I'm going to blame it on my printer.  :)
