This is a dual mono amp I built arround the Hypex UcD400AD modules.
It is configured as a dual mono amplifier using massive 630VA transformers (one per channel). There's enough power reserve to drive almost any speakers.
The modules have Black Gates in the power supply rails for a smoother, more transparent and punchier sound. The output cap has also been upgraded to a small Auricap custom made for these modules, again adding a litle more transparency and dynamics.
The amp has a softstart module (also from Hypex) and is built in a all aluminum, non magnetic enclosure. Switches and connectors are top quality. Front switch lights amber.
The front plate has a small dent on the top edge. There are a few small scratches on the enclosure.
It offers a choice of two inputs, single ended (RCA) and balanced (XLR).
This amp sounds fantastic, it has that smooth class D presentation with a lot of punch and transparency. The Hypex UcD technology is considered one of the best when it comest to Class-D designs. The UcD400 modules can be found in comercial amplifiers like the CIAudio D-200.
This amp faired very well against other class-d amps in a shoot out at a NY audio rave a few years ago. And had since been improved. It will give a lot of value for your money compared to equivalent comercial amps.
Asking: SOLD
