I love the studio pro look of black (on metal not plastic). Even the appearance of a few screws makes me feel fuzzy inside . LOL...........It's all good regardless of which we prefer but the black does match my socks! :jester:

I go by black for Home Theatre (the discrete and non-conspicuous look) and silver for the 2-ch (bold and beautiful).  If you've got a combined system....flip a coin.

Oh, and I totally agree, though I lean towards silver, I love the SP3 in black a little more...must because it's primarily a home theatre component.

Thanks...  :)

I love the nice clean lines of Bryston - the softstart switch which is the only thing you can push is so nicely designed and placed where I think most non-Brystonians would not have known thats the switch! Aesthetically I love the two LEDs too...I felt one LED is a little plain and anything more then two can be a crowd...but hey one LED will definitely sing better  8)

Hi James, I took a closer look at the front panel of the Bryston 4BSST2 amplifier and noticed how smooth it is. It also has a nicer silvery tone as compared to other hifi components out there.

Out of curiosity would you mind share what grades are the Aluminium used? I suppose its an alloy of some kind - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_alloy ??

This is an interesting question - if I could add to your request larevoj:

Would you be able to describe the finishing process on the aluminum?
Is there a sealant applied or is it just a specialized machining that gives it that smooth finish?
Does it cost more to create the black finish i.e. an extra powder coating process?

I always find it pretty amazing how resistant the silver finish is to finger prints etc.  Very classy.

I'm not a fanatic about isolation of solid-state amplfiers but having those 7B sitting atop a sizeable woofer enclosure just can't be optimal for sonic performance nor longevity.  Was this chosen on purpose?  Other than that, very nice pic - looks like serious sound.

Thanks for the comment.
They are decoupled from the enclosure through foam hockey pucks. As for the enclosure, it's heavily braced with minimum vibrations.
