Great specimen from this venerable amp mfr, circa early 90's. Tube-like sonic qualities w SS control and reliability. Very smooth and warm presentation makes for hours of fatigue-free listening. I have only owned it for three months. Great amp, just not synergizing properly with my speakers.

AC member Chris / LONEWOLFNY42 borrowed it for an extended period, so contact him for some unbiased listening impressions.

Overall condition is excellent. A few small scratches on top, and some flaking in the red lamp on front panel. Amp runs warm but not super hot like other Class A amps.

70 wpc Class A into 8 ohms, 140 into 4
conservative rating, will push much more for peak demands.

Tiffany RCA inputs, 5 way binding posts. Very well built. Original owners manual included.

This amp underwent a complete rebuild just last summer, so it should be good for another 20 years. I have invoice showing almost $400. I notice a ground lift switch has been installed. Never used it as amp is quiet in my system.

Google and find all the positive comments on this amp, and Bedini amps in general. The Quad and Shahinian guys seem to really like them.

NOTE:

I put the amp back into my system yesterday and notice there is a very low level "buzz". Not a humm....a buzz.....much less annoying than a humm. It is extremely low and does not change with volume. So low I did not even notice it when I last used the amp. Can only be heard when very close to the drivers. I am typically bothered by extraneous electronic noises, but my TV chair is 2 ft away from one speaker and it doesn't bother me at all when watching TV with system powered on. It is virtually impossible to hear it from the listening position, and it definitely cannot be heard thru the music, even with low level listening.

I don't think most folks would be bothered by it--just wanted to mention it for completeness. It might even be system dependent. A local AC member (Chris / Lonewolf) borrowed it for a solid month and said it was dead quiet....no noise at all the entire time. So I just don't know. When I was researching the amp, I learned that this is a fairly common trait of Bedini amps.

This amp really does have a lovely rich, full, warm and liquid tone. I would say more tube-like than SS. I know, I know....heard that before. But in this case, it's true. I just wish it did a better job with woofer control on my speakers. If it did, I'd be keeping it. I've heard lots of amps. This is VG sound for the $$.
