Don't forget some of the bigger Yamaha CR series receivers. You can pick up a really nice serviced one for under $300.

Like a nice CR-820 rated at 55 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 70 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms.




Ah what memories! Had a CR620 that sounded really nice while I was living at university.

Dont over look Harman Kardon and HH Scott. Harman Kardon 730 or 930. HH Scott R36s is a good receiver. Its only 30 watts a channel but sounds amazing. I got a Marantz 4320, not that impressed with it. Not that balanced. Not enough lower end.

 Sony STR receivers from the 70's are nice.
