I wonder if this works...

Cool.

At this time of year - late autumn - a local Australian native species, free from the tyranny of Northern Hemisphere stereotypes, goes ahead and gets ready to bloom anyway.

Your winters are sometimes warmer than Canadian summers.

Will that bloom?

You may be right re temperatures :)

The end of it opens up and it turns into a row of little upside down tulipy things... these ones are a little late to be honest, but that didn't help the story :)

Snap some more as it opens and reaches maturity.  Can't imagine anything growing up here that doesn't grow down there.

Um... well, make sure you bring some good lenses when you visit then ;)

...some good lenses...

I think the dust is settling and it looks like this...

Sigma 10~20mm
Pentax 15mm very high IQ prime - en Route
Sigma 30mm 1.4 - en Route
Pentax 40mm pancake
Pentax 50mm 1.4
Tamron 90mm macro
Pentax 55~300mm

Also have the kit lens (17~55mm) and a 17~70, but think I will let the 17~70 go.  I might get a second body depending on what Pentax releases in the fall or a K7.

Cool, looks like a pretty good selection. I need to thin mine out a bit - too many not getting enough use.

The picture above was with my 200mm macro lens.

Seen a number of reports where people end up buying the same lens they had once before.  Perhaps it is wise to think of them as 'tools' in the garage.  Even though some may not seem to be used very often, they sure come in handy when you need them, but if you have overlap, then that's a different matter.  For the most part lenses aren't cheap, but unlike bodies they do hold their value.

I'm not too worried about re-buying. I've come to the conclusion that collecting optics is not for me, I'd rather have just a small number that make me want to go out and shoot.

I have to admit though, there are a couple of vintage amps that I've regretted selling...

Is this a Nikon 200mm lens or Sigma?

Hey!

Interesting plant there. Blooming late autumn. Do you have picture of it  showing the whole plant?

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:
