Augie 15 to cross @ higher freq
« on: 18 May 2010, 12:47 pm »
I have searched many threads here and find a lot of people using Augie's for OB bass. Can anyone tell me how they are at frequencies up to say 300 to 400 hz?
It seams most people are using them at a lower cross over point.

Thanks
Ed

I don't think he used the Augie all the way to 400Hz but you might find this article interesting.

I will re-read it but on my first review I saw no mention of xover points, that had me me wondering.

He mentioned the Augie playing up to 240Hz I believe.  I thought the graph specifically may be of interest.

I've never tried to run mine near that high, but the graph Ed led us to shows that 450(ish) is "acceptable".

Thanks all

I am shooting for 350 hz crossover point.
I agree that the article implies that is possible, and the graph looks that way also. My quest is to use these with a Lowther DX55 and it starts dropping off @ 350 hz. I am biamping with a tubed xover, but dont want to use a lot of eq, and am trying to keep everything tube friendly.

Any other input would be most helpful
Cheers
