Rawson built Aleph Mini J clone * Sold *

I recently purchased two Tim Rawson built amplifiers. An Aleph Mini J clone and a F5 clone.
This was done to audition inexpensive, but quality sounding amplifiers for a bedroom 2
channel system. After spending time listening to both amps ...and comparing them to
my 38 w/ch Promitheus RCA50 push/pull monoblocks, I have decided to keep the F5
clone. This is because the F5 clone stands more in contrast to my main (tube based)
sytem.

This Aleph Mini J clone is based on a single-ended, Class A, voltage source amplifier.
It outputs 25 w/ch into 8 ohms, with 20 db of gain. It has a 242 K ohm input impedance
and pairs very well with tube preamps. I found the following component pathway to work
best in my system... DAC --> TVC --> tube buffer --> Aleph Mini J clone. It has a very
musical, slightly warm/neutral sound. While it doesn't have quite the bloom and decay of
a tube amplifier, it does have better attack and clarity. It also has much better bass
control. This is a fine sounding amplifier. I experienced zero listener fatigue with this
amp. If it didn't sound so similar to the tube monoblocks I already own, I would keep it...

The previous owner described it as built with a Hammond EI transformer and "the better
Aleph J boards". The case is industrial looking and made of all aluminum. This amp does
run hot (although the F5 clone runs hotter) ...because of it's Class A design and because
of aluminum's good heat dissipation. It is highly recommended that this amp receive good
ventilation. There was absolutely no 'hum' noted while I listened to this amplifier.

Price is $275 USD + actual shipping costs. (This is the same amount I paid for the amplifier)
Acceptable methods of payment are PayPal (+transaction fees) or USPS money order.
If you wish to purchase, please send me a PM.
I will answer questions related to the amplifier itself (as best I can) here in this thread.
No power cord or manual came with this amplifier, so none are supplied with this sale.
The amplifier is double boxed, extremely well padded and sealed tight with gratuitous
amounts of packaging tape for shipping.

Since I know of no feedback utility in Audio Circle, I want to state here that I bought this amplifier from Oscillate (Bruno Baldo) and received it very promptly and well packed. It arrived in excellent condition and appears to be a perfect match for my horns. Certainly it is everything the ad claims and it looks better in person than it did in the photos. So, here's a personal experience you can consider if you are uncertain about buying from Oscillate in the future. Bruno treated me very well. I imagine he would do the same for you.
