What a disappointment. :o
Great cast. Great director.
Just so, so movie with dragging story.
In all honesty, it felt like a very long pilot for overhyped, new TV series.
Surly it was made to unleash enough to tease you into investing your time and money in future sequels.
However, I am not looking forward to watching any of those unless it makes it to DVD/Blueray.

I did not say that it was unwatchable but it was very disappointing.
Imagine The Gladiator's first 30 minutes stretched into 2h & 20min. minus the great fight scenes, great acting and score.
In almost 2,5h they barely made it to real Robin Hood story.........

Well since Ridley is on a 'prequel' kick, I hope he does better with Alien...

Tomorrow I'm going to a matinee viewing of Robin Hood to be followed by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Considering Robin Hood is over 2.5 hours, I'm hoping for a goood 3 star movie.  :D

Cheers,
Robin

Well I saw Robin Hood and I really liked the story for what it was, a foundation for the legend of Robin Hood. But I also hated it cuz there was no house to the foundation.  To sit thru 2.4 hours waiting to see the story that I've grown up knowing only to never see it left me disappointed. Plus discovering that the movie promo's that I've been watching on TV for the last 2 weeks actually showed the end of the movie pissed me off to no end also.   But I did love both the storyline and the authenticity of the 12th century period so for that I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars and hope there will be a sequel in order to finish the story.  :D

Cheers,
Robin

There was a lot of early background origns of the man that I didn't know, if in fact it was factual. Like I said, I did love the storyline for as far as it went. I just hope this movie doesn't end up like The Golden Compass, very good movie but it not only stopped in the very middle of the storyline, the movie failed to turn a profit at the boxoffice so it's highly unlikely that a sequel will be forthcoming. I've watched The Golden Compass 3 times now, just watched this 3 year old movie the other night on HBO and it sucks not knowing how the story will end. At least with Robin Hood, that's not an issue.  :D

The movie featured Gemma Arterton, whom I won't soon forget. She was totally captivating on the big screen.
