Ok, I can see making an amplifier or a speaker or some other electronics at home, but there's no way I could see making a MOSFET transistor, especially when they're so reasonable to buy.  And you're not going to be able to compete with a clean room and high tech equipment.  And even it you make it, how do you package it and get heat sinks to it?  It just doesn't make logical or monetary sense.

All you need is a kiln in your kitchen and some true misplaced motivation. It's almost like baking bread  :wink:
