Need some ideas for woodworking for 12" Sealed Subwoofers

I'm planning to make a total of 3 subwoofers out of the recent M+K subwoofer box giveaway from Deepsurplus.  I already bought their 12" woofers (sounds pretty good for the price) and M+K 250 watt plate amps and built one sample.

It sounds quite good and I gave it to a friend (in photo), but I plan to build 2 more (maple) but house the M+K plate amp outside the box for better isolation and decrease noises that come from the plate amp.  The plate amp does not come with an internal cover, so I'll need to build some (minimal) external boxes for them and use *something* (what?) to seal the back of the box, meant for the plate amps.

Another big reason for not mounting the plate amp on the box is that of the 2 boxes left, only one has the right-sized cutout to fit the amp, but the box has non-stock through-holes with metal inserts, some of which must be stripped because even right-sized screws just keep spinning on half the holes/inserts.  The second box has much smaller, irregular cutout, so it won't fit the amp anyway.

To add to the issue, the 2 other boxes have slightly smaller driver cutout, so the driver above won't fit.  The outer hole needs to be widened by a few militers all around as well.  I'm thinking of buying a drum sander for this..

I do not own any woodworking tools at all, so I'm looking for easy ideas or local wood shop/carpenter who can do the job cheaply for me.  My zip is 91784, So Cal...

The specs on the plate amp is here:

I recently changed a subwoofer from having an internal amp, to a remote amp.  It was a DIY build, that started in 2001!

When the internal amp died, I pulled out the amp and simply cut a rectangular plate of mdf that fit over the hole, and siliconed and screwed that into place.  Into that plate, I cut a spot for the binding posts, and done.

I would think that a local Home Depot could cut the mdf for you, if you bought it there.

Perhaps you are looking for something with more flair than my very pedestrian solution though!

That's sort of what I was thinking for the back panel.  I guess I could also get some smaller MDF pieces cut by Home Depot and make a minimal box (thinking no bottom and 3 sides only, just to sit on the floor) for the plate amp as well..

For the plate amp, you could just put 2 sides on it, and let it sit like an upside down U.  Plenty of breathing room for sure!

I am thinking about mounting my incoming plate amp (BASH 300) into the ceiling joists in the basement!  Away from the kiddies, and since it is auto on...
