My boat has a JVC CD/DVD player that only has a single composite video output. The Samsung TV only has component and HDMI input. Anyone know of an inexpensive adapter? Google searches have so far only yielded fairly pricey solutions. Any ideas appreciated.

Not sure what you define as expensive.  Not sure how well devices like these work:

I have also not tried devices like -= http://www.audioauthority.com/product_details/985DTO/Commercial_Component/5/1

When Circuit City went out of business I was looking at this type stuff and towards the end they were selling bins of random junk including the bin itself for $25.  I wanted one to distribute (composite video) signals from a camera facing the front door so I bought a bin.  It may have multiple devices in the bin.  It is largely cables.  Not sure what they cost new.

They are rather expensive because you just cannot use some sort of adapter.  The box has to have electronics to split the composite signal into the three RGB components for either component or HDMI output.  At $100-200 it may be cheaper and better in the long run to replace the CD/DVD player.

Thanks guys. Someone on another forum suggested trying to plug the composite cable into the green component input. Tried it last night, works great except it is black and white. Also tried using my laptop into the PC input on the Sammy, that works well but kind of messy. I might just spring for a $25 DVD player . . . space is limited on a boat, but I could fit that w/o problems. Just keep the JVC in place for audio.
