6U10 Linestage Preamp
This is a sweet preamp built by a friend of mine, and designed by a friend of his. Sound is a little
warm—sort of a classic tube sound, but with good dynamics and speed. Very
much non-fatiguing.
Superbly built. Point-to-point wiring, with good components as you can see
from the photos. Teflon-insulated wiring. Regulated power supply.
6U10 tubes are triple-triodes. They’re inexpensive and easily available.
Tubes run cool, so my guess is that they’ll last for years. Regardless,
I’ll include an extra pair.
