The Birdland DAC is quite impressive and musical in its stock form, but the dynamics are not uniform at all frequencies. It also lacks that "sparkle" that live music has. Our mods bring it up to the performance level of the modded P-3A, with slightly less HF extension. The Birdland analog output stages are encapsulated, so this aspect is difficult to correct. If you were to audition the modded P-3A and the Birdland side-by-side, you would likely have a difficult time hearing any difference. Very cost effective mod. $750 plus shipping.
