Just picked up two seats in the Tacoma Dome for Dec 11. $201 per seat plus the ticketmaster charges.
After me bitchin' yesterday about prices and debating not even going, my wife surprised me by saying she thought the Tier 2 pricing was okay and she'd love to go. So, on that note I bought 2 tix today ($289/pr) for Tacoma as well after being selected for round 2.
Gotta distract people from the music somehow! Zing!!
Are there many other acts that can get people to fork over this much? If it was just four dudes playing in a stadium I'd never consider it, but I'm expecting some high zoot production values for this one. I've never really been to a really massive "showy" concert anyway.
I qualified for tickets in St louis, somewhere in rows 105, 111 and 114 A thru P.After fees ect they came out at $230 for the pair.
Maybe I'm putting my grumpy old codger hat on, but that's more then the CAR cost that I drove to see a Pink Floyd show on their tour introducing Dark Side of The Moon. I don't remember the ticket price, but I'm sure it was around $6 or so.I avoid all these nostalgia megapriced shows. I'll spend the money instead on a couple of three day festivals and/or two dozen folk concerts. At this level its mostly a business and precious little art.
I too would rather patronize our local concerts then pay $$$$$ to be shoved around in a stadium and confined to set seats. Make sure you wear ear protection. A lot of these mega groups are over rated anyway and rely on huge productions and fluff. A while ago we got some free tickets to a Jimmy Buffet concert and the band was just little dots in the distance backed up by giant tv screens. What a waste! Well....I did get the tickets for free. I suppose if I paid $500 I might get within 100 yards. Not exactly like a large nightclub which would be more suitable venue for this type of concert.-Roy
