A circle dedicated to nothing but HiRez Music.
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=150.0By the way, Steve (SRB), listen to the Mark Waldrep (AIX Records Founder) lengthy interview here and he'll shoot down your idea that good analog tape has any chance for the dynamics of live music (A prerequisite, in his mind, to the term HiRez...or HD). He claims that good analog tape or vinyl can't even get to the levels of good 12 bit. Anyway, interesting debate.
I'm going to be writing an article for a new eZine (prolly a column) and it's become clear that as more and more HiRez (my general definition is a simple "digital medium greater than redbook" swag right now) is available, more and more people are questioning it's sources Rhino calling redbook "high definition" to differentiate it from MP3??, Norah Jones "Come Away With Me" stereo SACD layer accidentally mastered from , . In the video world it's not hard to tell visually.....in the audio world it ain't so easy...and there's nor reason to think that the same percentage of scams available in any interest/hobby/industry won't also arise here. The real issue is to get to some standards real soon. Mark's might be a bit out there, but unlike other stabs at it it sure has well-defined and well-identifiable boundaries.
