Anyway, all that aside, it was Jazz and its female vocals, piano and most exceptionally its acoustic bass solos; classical, especially strings e.g. quartets and trios with other instruments and concertos (orchestral works featuring soloists on piano, violin etc.) and esoteric stuff like Miles Davis' Pharo's Dance from Bitches Brew and Tangerine Dream's Phaedra (there is so much going on in those two pieces and others like them that it takes a neutral, detail resolving amp and preamp to parse it all). The 7BSST2's and BP26 are very accomplished in all these scenarios. Add in the price, warranty and customer service and I chose Bryston over Classe, Mac, Mark Levinson and Parasound Halo.

that is the plan. it is up for sale, i have no interest in keeping two 4B SST2's. also, some of the money of the sale will most likely go into a BDA1...

bi amping kinda requires two connections on my loudspeakers. when i built them i considered doing this, but decided not to.

I understand. No problem. Ask James about bi-amping. I believe he'll tell you that it's a good idea overall.

Yes, definitely more diverse because the prices aren't insane (meaning $20000 and up,) imo.

With the list price for a pair of 28B SST² mono blocks plus PST and GST - you will have very little change left over from $20,000.00 and you still must purchase a preamplifier

I see your point. But not if you buy from a pro audio dealer. And those are Canadian taxes, not US. haha.

Why vegasdave - laughing at our Canadian taxes

You better get use to a very high tax load with the way the US government is borrowing money - you do have to pay it back sooner or later. Anyway, you will eventually pay more for Bryston gear down there with the way the US dollar is losing its value against the Canadian dollar.

I understand that you can purchase the state of California very cheaply at this time.

A Canadian lady called in to a well known radio talk show this week to report when she looks south she feels like she is watching her neighbor's house burn down. First and foremost - audio quality.

I also enjoy the aesthetics of my Bryston audio equipment, there is just something about the presence of two large amplifiers on your equipment stand - a timeless styling. Lets face it, if it does not improve the audio quality - I do not want to see it on or in my equipment.

A twenty-year warranty, great customer service and Bryston is only a couple hours down the road if my equipment requires service.

Some of you know me. I don't currently own any Bryston equipment (Krell) but the 2B was a real winner!. I could not and still cannot understand how a 60 wpc amp could produce mind bending dynamics.

I went with a Krell 400xi due to cost concerns more than anything else. Neither the 2B nor the B60 could drive my Dynuadio 1.3 SEs with quite enough gusto, although within their limits they were fantastic sounding. At some point a big Bryston upgrade will come back my way. I am a big Krell and Bryston fan in that they both epitomize what solid-state electronics are about. Deatil,neutrality and tremendous dynamics.

Robert knows me from the Dynaudio owners thread and as I have said on there we are fortunate to belong to such great threads. I have not owned Bryston for quite awhile now, yet I have not been derided for my current choices. You are a great bunch of guys and I enjoy the opportunity to converse with all of you.
