FS or trade: Sequerra Met 7 MkVI in walnut (SOLD)
« on: 22 Apr 2010, 01:34 am »
I have a pair of Sequerra Met 7 MkVI speakers in walnut finish. Was going to rate them a solid 9 until I previewed the pics and noticed the ding on the bottom of one speaker's baffle. These speakers absolutely disappear when set up properly, amazing how time coherent speakers can do that. A few years ago these were listed as Class B in Stereophile's Recommended Component section.
Asking $425 for the speakers including UPS shipping, CONUS only. They will ship in the original boxes with extra padding and outer box. Paypal is preferred payment for these. Interesting trades considered, no more speakers though please. For feedback, my user name is timrhu on Audiogon.
I simply have too many sets of speakers and no time to listen to all of them. Thanks.

These Sequerra's are highly thought of in some circles.  Sam Tellig reviewed them in Stereophile and loved them.  Said they image like fiends.  They are a sealed box design which not many designers do these days.  Dick Sequerra knows things.  They won't go real deep but what they will do is render bass very cleanly and seemlessly.  The latter is also because they are physically time aligned and which helps account for ST's statements about their abilty to image, I believe.  These speakers will benefit from felting the baffles.  I'm not just sayin that cause it's what I do.  Good as they may be, they can be better.  That's a 6.5" mid/bass driver, BTW.

I loved my original Met 7s many moons ago.  For those he used to have a woofer docking module and an add on ribbon tweeter (which I always wanted to try).  I have not seen his speakers in years.  I had an old Dahlquist electronic crossover and sub when I had mine and used to sit the Met 7s on top of my larger speakers and they were amazing with the low bass removed from them.
