Thanks, Josh.  This one looks in pretty good shape.  I'm gonna bid.

I just ordered the Clearaudio Synchro power supply, had a 10percent off coupon at musicdirect. The intro price of 900 is now 1K, so it's back to 900 with the discount. I'm hoping that this will give me some of the same improvement as a Lingo, but I'm unwilling to shell out 1600 bucks for a Lingo! Also, I need a 50Hz motor since my old Linn has a 60Hz motor stock (it's a "Basik" power supply from late 70's). Review to follow when I get it!

With the money I saved I bought for my Rega 600: Expressimo Counterweight, End Stub, VTA adjuster, Stylus force gauge. And a Clearaudio strobe disk. And a Wally Tools Wallytractor.

Now that I was able to adjust my Rega cueing height without the dealer, I am beginning to feel like an invincible tweakmeister.

One thing I like about the Linn is that you can play with it endlessly (or so it seems). Good luck with your purchase!

Biz,

Now that you've had some time with it, are you happy with resurrecting your Linn?

My Linn

I'm a little reserved yet. I don't have a rack yet for the system, it's on a really tipsy desk. My speaker cables are 12 g Radio Shack, sitting on the cement floor, have a new Van Alstine Preamp and Amp, still breaking in, speakers in a provisional setup. I'm totally untweaked, so to speak. I have 8th Nerve pillows and boxes ready to go up, but we're still working on the room from a contractor standpoint. BIG problem with the electrical, they're redoing the transformer out at the road and are planning new lines to the house once winter thaws. I'm down between 5-10 volts and none of the equipment is liking it!

So, I'm hanging in there and I'll be doing one thing at a time. Hope to report on things that work and things that don't work. Will also try to sneak my new Loricraft record cleaner into the house and listen to some pristine vinyl tracks.

The next few weeks are going to be exciting! But I still believe that "old is good" and marvel at how well the Linn has held up after all these years. I don't regret anything I've done to it.
