Speaker Comparison: YG Acoustics Carmel/Magico V3

On Saturday May 22nd(2:00pm), Dick Diamond of YG Acoustics will be bring a pair of their new speakers called the Carmel($18,000) and a pair of Magico V3's for a comparison/shoot-out to our store Advanced Home Theater in Plano . Guests will be aksed to fill out short survey card on what they thought of the two speakers. If you can let me know ahead of time you are coming that would be great, but if you don't know until the last minute and show up that will be fine as well. The source gear will be; Playback Designs CD/SACD Player, Dartzeel Amp and Preamp, MIT cables. Our address is;

Are you bringing any of the YG Acoustic speakers to LSAF?

Hi Danny,

No YG's at LSAF. I will have the Von Schweikert Unifield 3's, Luxman Integrated L-507u and Luxman CD/SACD player the D-05. Cables will be MIT Shotgun MA/Elrod power cords and isolation will be HRS.

11 out of 11 preferred the YG's over the Magico V3's.

They told me they felt the YG Carmels had better clarity, dynamics and detail. And that they preferred the livelier sound of the Carmels over the darker sound of the Magic V3's.

Sorry I missed visiting your room at LSAF and meeting you. Won't next year. Would like to have been at your store for this comparison. Great idea.
