Does anyone use Groove Glide on their records?

I was wondering if it quiets the surface noise any on older recordings. I've always been concerned that it will build up on the stylus.

I use groove glide on occasion, usually on records that are less than perfect. It does seem to cut down on surface noise and as of yet I don't see or hear the effects of any buildup on the cartridge. I would buy a can again when this one is depleted.

Is this stuff a liquid or a very fine powder? How is it applied and managed?

It's a dry lubricant that is carried by an evaporating solvent.Apparently it does no harm to the record.  I know that Sheffield Labs used to have a Gruv-Glide endorsement on their record sleeves back in the day.Although I've never tried (I've been loyal to LAST's record preservative for decades) it I have never heard any bad stories about it, and by all accounts it does improve the sound.
Here's how it works:http://www.gruvglide.com/PRODUCTS.html

NOPE. Ivor won't let me. I'm Linned. Actually never had a need. Just keep those records clean and be done. IMO any liquid, or powder will work its way up the cant. and cause a problem with the assembly. Again my opinion.

If you're Linned, then you're probably using the felt mat, too...

I use it, there is a slightly noticeable, improved quietness in sound but it is outstanding for subduing static. I've never had an issue with any residue buildup on my styli and I've used it for a few years now.

I used it during the winter months as way to cut down on static build up....it worked....but what worked better was finally getting my low humidity under control... :duh:

Wayner, it comes in an aresol can with a 'pad applicator'....does it perform better than treating with 'LAST' ?? ...I can't honesty say that I heard any improvement.
