Danny,
Are you still planning on offering the One.2 with sonicaps? Just curious.

45 units are being made that way from the factory. I shipped them the caps.

Will there be a price difference?

How well will this amp perform with the N2X?

Thanks!

It won't play it real loud, but it will sound great.

So the N3 would be a better match for the Virtue w/Sonic cap amp?

Depends on how loud you listen. I had the Neo 2x demo unit here and had no issue using it with my Virtue Two, but I don't listen at high SPL.

I suspect room size and ceiling height also comes into play here.

Room size and listening distance are certainly in play, but the higher sensitivity of the N3 will go a long way.

Danny,

Any status update on delivery & price for the 45 One.2 units you ordered w/ Sonicaps?  I assume we are talking about the wunderbar Platinums, or Gen II's?

Also, in keeping w/ the small form set-up ... Seth now offers a 28v 5 amp & 7 amp (2) battery kit vs. the (4) battery kit you offer. I suppose they all originate from Gary Dodd, so any chance you will be getting those smaller footprint kits as well?  Edit:  Nevermind re: this question. Virtue Audio shows these 2 battery options are from GR Research; but they don't show up on your website...

Thanks for any info you can provide.  I'm very interested as I'm sure are others on here.

Those new units coming have Gen.1 Sonicaps.

The new smaller battery kits will be up on the web site as soon as I can get to it. They actually drop ship from Dodd Audio as Gary is the one that makes all the wiring harness for it all.

Hang in there.

Danny,  re: the Sonicap Gen I selections ...

Did you experiment w/ the Sonicap Platinums or any Sonicap bypass configurations ?  Or was the real estate too limited, you wanted to keep the cost down, or just simply law of diminishing returns ?

I'm auditioning a One.2 now as part of the AC tour (super nice little amp ! ).  If the 80 Hz jumper is used to incorporate a sub,  then only the (2) .1uF capacitors come into play. I was curious if the (2) 2.2 uF capacitors are removed & the added room allows for larger .1 uF capacitors, if the Platinums would be of added benefit for the $58 cost vs. say $11 cost for the Gen I ?

vvv  Thanks Danny !  vvv

Yep, just keeping the cost down. The end user can upgrade them if they want.

They would bring the performance level up a notch in either the by-pass position or in replacing the main cap if used with a sub.
